Welcome to the website of
The British Bloodstock Agency and BBA 2010 Ltd.
The British Bloodstock Agency will this year celebrate 100 years of service to the bloodstock industry. Founded in 1911, the company soon became the world’s leading bloodstock agency. The BBA floated on the stock market in 1984, but in 2001 the company went through a dramatic change to its composition and activities. Subsequently, in 2010, Kirsten Rausing and Richard Frisby purchased the BBA to ensure continuity of this famous bloodstock name, known so well throughout the world.
For the time being, it is not the intention of the directors to re-establish the "old BBA" as a large scale bloodstock agency, but we do hope to re-kindle some of the BBA atmosphere of great friendship and enthusiasm for the racing and breeding industry. Initially, the company will trade as BBA 2010, an Enterprise Investment Scheme trading principally in breeding stock, following on from the success of Ptarmigan Bloodstock who, together with Kirsten Rausing, bred Fame And Glory, winner of the Irish Derby Gr.1 (2009) and the Coronation Stakes Gr.1 (2010).
The BBA are grateful to Guy Heald and Michael Goodbody who have joined the company in the roles of director and bloodstock consultant and bring with them a wealth of experience to the company.
BBA 2010 purchased its first broodmares at the 2010 Tattersalls breeding stock sale and the directors are actively seeking further opportunities to purchase additional mares for the company’s bloodstock portfolio.
For further details, please do not hesitate to contact the directors. Details of the company's bloodstock follow on later pages of the website.
